The entire community of Dugwer is in disarray in the early hours of today, as local vigilante, allegedly acting on the orders or Kuru Jibu, HRH Alhaji Abubakar Mahmood Adamu, invaded the area, shooting sporadically.
At the time of compiling this report, some of the injured victims are critically lying in the General Hospital Bali, while several others have sustained various degrees of injury.
The Community leader of Dugwer, Zaki Iorchir Tenenge, told our reporter that a lot more of their members are trapped in the bush with various degrees of injury arising from gunshots of the attackers.
‘The Kuru Jibu told us that he wants to take over our land and give it to the Governor of Taraba State HE Arc, Darius Dickson Ishaku. We have lived here for many decades, even before the Kuru Jibu was born. We are peace lovers.
‘Yesterday, he brought the Bull dozer to destroy us and today he brought his armed militia to kill us. The shootings and killings are still ongoing as I talk to you now.’ He told our reporter.
Dugwer, a highly populated Tiv community, is located along Takum road, 3 kilometres away from Bali Town. Worldview checks reveals that the community has a population of about 6000 people, spread across 500 hectres of land.
