HON AYUA TAKES UKUM COUNCIL TO THE NEXT LEVEL
A golden fish, says a popular adage, has no hiding place. This assertion has found expression in Ukum Local Government Council of Benue State, as Hon. Terwase Steve Ayua assumed office as the Chairman of the council recently.
Although he was engulfed in the practice of journalism, defining his career as an ace broadcaster, the eyes of his people were on him. Therefore, when time came for the people of Ukum Local Government Area to choose a leader that will navigate their aspiration to the coast of reality, they went for him. Already, he had the desire for service delivery to his people running in his vein, and Ayua did not hesitate to hearken to the call of his people to serve them.
He took over the mantle of leadership with sleeves of his shirt folded, as well as the legs of his trousers and the man hit the ground running. Already, he had promised that his leadership would tow a path of development that was unique, a one size fit all administrative policy that will benefit the entire people of the Local Government Area. Few months into his administration, there are visible marks of seriousness and determination to fulfil his promises.
With the safety of lives and property of the people taking the better part of his concerns, he worked hard to ensure that peace and tranquility prevail in all nooks and crannies of the Local Council. His efforts yielded positive results as no single gunshot has been heard since he assumed office for the past four months.
As part of his efforts to maintain peaceful coexistence with the border community of Taraba State, Hon Steve Ayua has facilitated the establishment of a Mobile Police Post at Vaase Community which has greatly curtailed the incessant attacks on the community by hoodlums.
Aside security, he has fixed the broken down Hilux of the Local Government and the security van of the NSCDC for surveillance beef up. This is not to talk of the successfully completed renovation of the Chairman’s official Lodge which he was able to finished within the first 100 days in office.
Ayua is currently renovating offices of principal staff members of the local government and some portions of the Secretariat that have been in bad condition all these while.
Sources close to the Council revealed to our Reporter that, Hon. Ayua is planning the grading of some roads in the local government and major streets in Zaki Biam, the commercial town of the Local Government.
Ukum Local Council been one of the economically viable councils of Benue State, many people are convinced that with the caliber of the person of Hon. Steve in the control of affairs of the Local Council, the council in particular and Benue state in general will certainly be found among the states that would be located at the next level by the time the young man is done with his tenure.
