TARABA TIV CENTRAL LEADER FLAGS OF
WORKSHOP FOR TIV TRADITIONAL LEADERS

The Tiv central Leader of Taraba State, Chief David Gbaa Tela, has flagged of workshop on Tiv Traditional Leaders in Taraba state. The workshop with a theme, Dynamic of Enduring Leadership was declared open a the Tiv Council Hall, Augwan Tiv Bali.
Declaring the event open, Zaki David Gbaa Said, the workshop is organized to address the shortcomings and challenges that are associated with Taraba Tiv Traditional leadership in Taraba State. He emphasized that this is the first time that the Tiv people of Taraba State would come together as leaders, to brainstorm on how best they can coordinate the activities of our people.
He further stressed the need to key into the good governance policy of the Governor Agbu Kefas led administration, emphasizing that this noble objective cannot be realized without sensitization and education of the people and the workshop is aimed to achieve this purpose. He said.

“You cannot give people responsibilities and allow them to float as they wish without guiding them. All over the world, training and capacity building is critical to human capital development. Now that whole world is on a fast lane of development, with its attendant security implications, we have no choice than to engage and train our people on the new trend.
“This step is in line with Governor kefas’ leadership principle of training leaders. If you are following Governor Kefas governance trend, you will see that he has taken the commissioners that he has appointed at different stages of retreat. This is to build his team and prepare them for leadership in line with the Governor’s Five finger agenda of development. Therefore, we are emulating our Governor’s leadership steps” He Stated.
Zaki David appreciated the Tiv Traditional Leaders in Taraba State, who came from far and near to participate in the workshop, even as he advised them to domesticate the knowledge that they will acquire to impact on their leadership dispositions and conducts and of people in their communities.

Other participants who spoke with our reporters appreciated the Tiv Traditional Leaders’ Supreme Council, Taraba State for conceiving idea for such a noble project. Participants at the workshop are drawn from the Tiv Traditional Leaders of Wukari, Takum, Ardo-Kola, Gassol, Bali, Gashaka and Ibi local Government Areas of Taraba State.
The three-day workshop, which started on the 3rd and closes on the 5th of this month, features resources persons from different socio-political strata, including the clergy, academia and seasoned traditional leaders.
