Taraba Madrid and Timber Buyers Association Condemns setting up PROWPMAN in the state.
Taraba state Madrid and Timber Buyers Association has informed the general public and it esteems members to stay clear of the new organization that stormed the state, process wood producers and marketers association of Nigeria PROWPMAN.
According to a press release issued in jalingo by the state chairman of the Taraba state Madrid and Timber Buyers Association, Josiah Magaji, PROWPMAN is never a national association as claimed by the people but only exist in some state in the southern and Western part of the country adding that the PROWPMAN is an Ogun based association.
The press release observed that PROWPMAN did not meant well for the state and there coming to Taraba is to cover up their years of shady deals in which they have been defrauding the state of funds meant for afforestation.
The release noted that the Madrid and Timber Buyers Association reliably gathered that there was a financial inducement to the tune of Ten million naira to some management staff of the state ministry of environment for their acceptance to set up the association in the state.
The press statement added that a woman politician from the southern Taraba zone fraudulent made the arrangement to induced the ministry using the name of the wife of the governor to perpatrate their evil intention.
The association want to disabused the minds of Tarabans on the rumours peddling round that the wife of the governor of the state sold out the state to Yoruba people and that she is the patron of the questionable PROWPMAN.
The statement categorically made it clear that the wife of the governor is never a party to such a questionable association that is out to cause confusion in the state.
It maintained that the Madrid and Timber Buyers Association is a duly registered and recognized association in Taraba state and has been working for years in collaboration with relevant authorities.
According to the statement Madrid and Timber Buyers Association is registered with corporate Affairs Commission and has commenced plantation of Five Million Trees across the state.
