Taraba Legislators spend N10m to fix 300 Boreholes for constituents

Senator Yusuf Abubakar and two other legislators from Taraba state have put in over N10M to repair about 300 broken boreholes in Bali-Gassol Federal constituency of the state, as water scarcity begins to bite harder.

Speaking shortly after inspecting some of  the repaired boreholes at Garin Abba in Gassol local government on Saturday, Alh. Mubarak Gambo the trio of  Senator Yusuf Abubakar Yusuf representing Taraba central, Alh Gambo Mubarak representing Gassol/Bali federal constituency and Suleiman Abbas representing Gassol 1 state constituency decided to put together N10 million to repair the boreholes due to pressing needs for clean drinking water in the area.

He said as representatives of the people they were duty bound to respond to the needs of the those who elected them.

Mubarak explained that communities in Gassol and Bali federal constituency were faced with acute shortage of clean drinking water following non functioning boreholes.

He they had to contribute money to repair the boreholes located at different parts of the two local government as a solution to the shortage of water faced in the areas.

Similarly, Suleiman Abbas who said the joint venture with his senior colleagues had enabled him to repair about 116 boreholes within his Gassol 1 constituency.

He also commended  Sen. Yusuf and Hon. Mubarak for partnering with him to repair water sources.

Earlier in his address, the All Progressives Congress (APC) state Chairman Barr. Ibrahim El-Sudi commended the legislators for embarking on the rehabilitation exercise.

He urged other politicians to emulate the legislators by providing dividends of democracy to their people.

He also commended Abbas for embarking on the construction of a secondary school at Garin Abba and culverts in Garin Bello all located within his constituency.
