Yola Electricity Distribution Company Announces New MD/CEO

Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) is pleased to announce that Engr Abdulrahman Ahmad Isa has been appointed as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the company, effective from February 1, 2024.
This was made known in a Press Release signed by the YEDC Head of Corporate Communications, Olugbenga Oladimeji Adebola.
The statement described Engr Isa as a seasoned electrical engineer and business leader with over 20 years of experience in the power sector. He has held various positions in the defunct National Electricity Power Authority and Power Holding Company of Nigeria, where he was responsible for designing, operating, and maintaining electrical networks across the country. He is also a consultant on turnover strategy for Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, where he helped improve the company’s performance and customer satisfaction.
Engr Isa holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Maiduguri and a Master of Engineering degree from Ahmadu Bello University. He is a registered engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), and a member of the Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Nigerian Institute of Power Engineers (NIPE).
The new CEO has expressed his enthusiasm and vision for leading YEDC, which serves over 4 million customers in Adamawa, Borno, Taraba, and Yobe states. He said, “I am honored and excited to join YEDC as the new MD/CEO. I look forward to working with the dedicated and talented staff of the company, as well as our valued customers and stakeholders, to deliver reliable and affordable electricity to our service areas. I am committed to building on the progress that has been made so far, and to implementing innovative and sustainable solutions that will enhance YEDC’s growth and development.”
The Board of Directors of YEDC congratulates Engr Isa on his appointment and welcomes him to the company. The Board also thanks the outgoing MD/CEO, Mr. Dan Ibrahim Shuaib, for his exemplary service and achievements during his tenure.
