Gov Fintiri stressed that the road projects were flagged off in November 2019 by the present administration in collaboration with Rural Access and Mobility Project (RAMP) 2 aimed at sustaining access networks to all rural populations and stimulate economic growth.

The projects will further provide access to the rural population through rehabilitation and maintaining key rural transport infrastructures in a sustainable manner in selected Nigerian States, he added.

He added that despite the lean resources in Adamawa State coupled with the Covid-19 pandemic that affected global economy, Governor Fintiri was able to execute the projects and called on the people to support the laudable objectives of the administration.

Speaking at the occasion, State Commissioner of Rural Infrastructure and Community Development, Abdullahi Preamble, said the Project Development Objective (PDO) is to improve transport conditions being sustained.

The Commissioner said the gesture has positively impacted on the livelihood of the people especially farmers who are responsible for the bulk of food consumed in the urban centers and technically reduces post harvest losses.

He assured that efforts are being made to maintain the roads by the community members to avoid the short lived of the projects, added since the inception of the Fintiri-led administration, 600 kms of access roads were being covered along with 19 river crossings.

The national Coordinator of (RAMP) 2 who was represented by Mr. Musa Nimrod revealed that Adamawa is adjudged as the best in the country by the World Bank in terms of executing (RAMP) projects and called on the governor to facilitate surface dressing of the roads.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Project Coordinator of (RAMP) 2 in Adamawa, Engineer Zubairu Adamu said 628 youths were recruited by (RAMP) to maintain all the roads constructed across the state.

Engineer Zubairu Adamu believes that with the present dispensation, Adamawa State Rural dwellers will never remain the same again from this intervention in the rehabilitation /construction of rural roads.
