NNPP, ASSURES FORMING THE NEXT GOVERNMENT

Emmanuel Samuel, Yola

The former Deputy Governor of Adamawa State and former chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC), Sa’ad MC Tahir has defected to New Nigeria People Party (NNPP) with his teaming supporters across the 21 local government areas of the state.

Sa’ad MC Tahir explained that “we are the aggrieved members from the People’s Democratic party and All Progressives Congress who never found fairness and justice in our former parties”.

MC Tahir maintained that after the APC Convention, many APC grassroot members who are maligned will return back to NNPP, assuring that the party will form a government at federal and state levels in 2023.

Speaking shortly after receiving the former Deputy Governor, on Tuesday in Yola, the State Chairman of the party, Mr Phineas Elisha said that the party has so far registered over 560,000 members within the shortest possible time, stressing that what remains now is for the party to take the nation out of security challenges bedeviling it.

Elisha said “God’s willing the party will win both at the federal and state levels comes 2023 following the calibre of people that are trooping in”, and called on Nigerians to vote for the party that has all what it take to take the nation to the promise land

According to him, NNPP is a party devoid of segregation, sentiment and marginalization of members irrespective of status because of it good structural mechanism in place.

He explained that it was formally known as Great Nigeria People Party (GNPP) and during the second Republic in 1999 it was renamed NNPP, aimed to serve democracy and rescue Nigeria from the claws of politicians who has eroded democracy to their advantage.

He lamented that recently elected politicians are not upholding the mandate of the people who elected them but rather answerable and loyal to caucus and groups they formed thereby endangering the principle of democracy in Nigeria.

Phineas Elisha who called on President Muhammad Buhari to redeem his campaign promises he made, saying “the situation in Nigeria now is alarming especially in the area of insecurity and diversification of economy”.

“Though I am not trying to castigate Mr President but he has tried his best in the area of food security which Nigeria is rated number one in Africa and has also reduced our dependency on crude oil as only 40% of the major foreign exchange, however on power, Buhari has admitted that much is not being done in that area”, he stressed.

According to the Chairman, “presently many serving Governors including 69 National Assembly members from different political parties are indicating interest to join the party”, showing the level of acceptability the party has.

He opined that if NNPP wins their priority will be on agriculture at both the federal and state levels because of it fast opportunities coupled with the arable lands that can enable the youths to invest rather than complaining about unemployment.
