AGBU KEFAS; BEST FOR TARABA STATE – LAWYER

A frontline politician and renown legal practitioner, Barrister Jime Yongo, has called on the Taraba State electorate to vote Lt. Col. Agbu Kefas rtd, candidate of the PDP, as the Governor of Taraba state, saying he is the best person for the job.
The legal practitioner who hails from Chinkai, Kente Ward of Wukari Local Government Area said this in an exclusive interview with our reporter in Jalingo.
Barrister Jime Yongo, who is also a Special Adviser to the Governor of Taraba State, told our reporter that as a stakeholder, with the knowledge of leadership potentialities and factors of the state’s socio-economic development, Agbu Kefas, is the best governorship material for the state, compared to candidates of other political parties in the state.
‘He has come this far, after winning numerous cases in the courts, up to the apex court of the land. This showed that the process that made him the candidate of the party is a credible one. Aside from this feat, which he has attained through his strict observance of political guidelines and responsive leadership, Kefas has a goodwill that cuts across the socio-religious strata of the state. Although he is a pastor, the love of the Muslim faithful for him knows no bounds. Aside this, he has the support of very influential people in the state, even as the masses see him as an emancipator, an apostle of peace and promoter of values that are building blocks for society development.
‘The most outstanding advantage that Kefas has over candidates is that, he is a young man. Fortunately, he is coming at a time that the clamour for generational shift and not too young to serve are inundating the leadership wing of the country’s political space. In Taraba State, we need someone who is young and vibrant, someone with the needed capacity to take the state to the podium of our collective aspiration, and Lt. Col. Agbu Kefas epitomizes these leadership criteria. He stated.
On the issue of security challenges in the state, especially the lingering Jukun-Tiv crisis in the Southern part of Taraba State, Barr. Yongo said that Agbu Kefas has already promised to tackle the menace when elected as Governor of the State.
‘The security background of this gentleman and his leadership antecedent will amaze you. Having served in the Nigerian Army, he worked in the military Intelligence Unit and he was deployed to the Niger Delta with a mission to provide solution to the persistent security imbroglio bedeviling the people of Niger Delta. What he did there can better be imagined. But it’s it already on record that since then, there have not been reports of any major crisis from Niger Delta. Therefore, in our case, we believe with his experience, he will join hands with security agencies to bring about solutions to our security challenges to the Jukun and Tiv crisis in the Southern part of Taraba State.
‘He has categorically stated that, if given the opportunity, he will not only solve the problem, but he will terminate it completely. Not only the Tiv, Jukun crisis, he has promised to bring the people of the state to a roundtable discussion where they will no longer have reasons to even quarrel with each other.’ He told our Reporter.
Barrister Jime called on the people of the Southern Senatorial District in particular and the entire state in general to do justice to the state by voting Lt. Co. Agbu Kefas rtd, as the Executive Governor of the State on Saturday 18th march 2023.
‘It is when we use our votes wisely that we would have the right people in power and develop Taraba to the state of our dream.’
He assured.
