Taraba ACReSAL Team, Environment Commissioner inspect ongoing intervention projects in frontline Ministries

Taraba State Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Team led by the Project Coordinator, Dr. Clement Yakubu Giwa today, inspected ongoing intervention projects sites with the Honorable Commissioner Taraba State Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Hajia Aisha Barde who doubles as the ACReSAL Steering Committee Chairperson.

The frontline Ministries visited includes; Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Ministry of Water Management and Aquatic Affairs. Other places visited include; Taraba Environmental Protection Agency (TEPA) and Boboji Bridge, respectively.

The ACReSAL Project Coordinator, Dr. Clement Giwa while speaking during the inspection tour said, the aim of embarking on renovation/rehabilitation of some structures in the three frontline Ministries including TEPA was to address infrastructure challenges in line with the policies of ACReSAL Project.

He appreciated His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas for being supportive to the Project while commending the Steering Committee Chairperson, Hon. Aisha Barde for collaborating well with ACReSAL Team and futher reaffirmed commitment for onward collaborations and more project execution.

“ACReSAL is a World Bank initiative aimed at addressing infrastructure/environmental challenges and we at Taraba ACReSAL, are ready to deliver on this mandate.

“I want to thank the Honorable Commissioner of Environment and Climate Change who is also the Steering Committee Chairperson for cooperating well to see that we have a fair playground,” he said.

Hon. Aisha Barde in her remarks, commended the Governor of Taraba State His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas for creating an enabling environment for the implementation of ACReSAL Project including its activities in the State.

She equally thanked the World Bank Team for investing so much in addressing environmental/infrastructure challenges to better lives while calling on authorities of those Ministries to ensure that the structures are judiciously used for their intended purposes even as she restates commitment to do more.

“I want to first of all, thank His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas for given us an enabling environment to implement the ACReSAL project as well as its activities in the State. This project is aimed at addressing some environmental and nfrastructure challenges especially within the Ministry of Environment,” she stated.

Recall that the ongoing renovation include; two blocks at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, one office block at TEPA, one office block at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, one office block at the Ministry of Water Management and Aquatic Affairs, respectively.
