In the spirit of Ramadan being observed by Muslim faithful across the globe, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has send 1200 bags of rice to the people of Taraba State to ease some challenges occasioned by the spirit of the season
The bags of rice were presented to chairmen and representatives of the disabled as well as the youths and women groups across the 16 local government Areas of the state for onward distribution to beneficiaries at the grass root
Speaking during the disbursement of the rice, Barr Ibrahim Elsudi, Taraba State chairman, All Progressive Congress APC, said the resounding Initiative was facilitated by Nuhu Ribado, the National Security Adviser
He disclosed that each of the 16 Local Government Areas in the state had fair share of 50 bags each, even as he said party officials and other groups in the state had also gotten their fair share
His words; “We want to appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his kind show of dividend of democracy in our state. We equally appreciate our brother, Nuhu Ribado, the National Security Adviser for facilitating this kind gesture. We are going to ensure that the people of Taraba State benefit from this gesture irrespective of their religion or political background”.
Barr Elsudi further called on the beneficiaries to make the most use of the gift and not sale them to deprive their families from benefiting from the kind gesture of the president, adding that larger ones are going to come especially if they are united
While harping on the position of his party, APC in Taraba state, the chairman said that stakeholders of the party were working closely to close gaps and forge a common course in order to reap the true dividend of democracy
“Even though we were in disarray, this time around we are determined to get it right. Already we have buried all our differences. We have met up to nine times in Abuja where all the bulldozers, the mahoganies, the Irokos, the movers and shakers of APC, all came together under one roof to form a United front
“The few stakeholders who were absent at the last meeting was as a result of misinformation about the purpose of the meeting. But you could see that at least, substantially, most of them understood and in the next meeting you will see a united front”. He said.
