The Mumuye youths of Bali Local Government Area, Taraba State has cautioned a civil activist and political analyst, Pastor Rikwensi Muri, over what they described as baseless, malicious and sponsored political drama against the Member representing Bali 1 Constituency at the Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon. Veronica Allhassan popularly known as Jaruman Bukundi
Pastor Rikwensi Muri had recently gone into the various social media platforms, where he criticized and vowed to take legal action against the Lawmaker, Hon Veronica Alhassan for threatening her constituent, Mr Babangida in Bali Local Government Area
But the youth under the umbrella of Mumuye Youths Association, Bali Local Government Area, has frowned at the action of the civil activist, describing it as a sponsored episode, aimed at tarnishing the hard earned reputation of the Lawmaker
In a rejoinder titled “Muri and his Destructive Antics; Leave Bali alone”, signed by Mumuye Youth Leader Bali A, Mr Cletus Zayun and issued to Journalists, the group expressed dismay how Muri who hails from Takum Local Government Area where there are lots of political crisis among brothers, requiring his energy for resolution had jumped out to another Local Government to fuel a little fracas between two relatives
The youths cautioned Pastor Muri, to look for more productive ventures and indulge himself, instead of always dissipating energy on trying to tarnish the image of personalities of grace , whose reputations can never be dragged
“It has become necessary to respond to your baseless, malicious and sponsored political drama against the member, representing the good people of Bali 1 Constituency at the Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon. Veronica alhassan, the Jaruman Bukundi
“We want you to know that it is not easy to tarnish the images of a leader who is under the grace of God. You can’t claim a saint in another man’s house while you have a divided home. The last time we checked, you were from Takum Local government Area where lots of political crisis among your brothers require the energy of ‘the very dark man style’ to handle amicably.
“Ironically, you have jumped out to other LGA leaving the people in disarray. It would have been wise enough if you could channel your energy in handling what is happening around you instead of intruding into issues that did not concern you in any way. The freedom you claimed to be fighting for a stranger is also needed by your very own people.
“We want you to know that whoever that is sponsoring you to go about trying to tarnish the image of Hon. Veronica alhassan and other office holders in the State for political advantage has already failed. The mission is dead on arrival because Hon. Veronica Alhassan, Jaruman Bukundi is widely accepted by her people.
“She was voted by her people and by the grace of God, she is doing tremendously good for her constituents. Through her, the governor was able to renovate the Bali general hospital which was long overdue. She has influenced employment of many persons and has also empowered countless of women and youths among other things.”. The statement reads in part.
While urging Rikwensi Muri to leave the two relatives alone to sort out issues themselves as members of a family, the youths recalled that Babangida is more or less a son to the Lawmaker and had been very close to her until their recent dispute which is normal with politics
“We want Rikwensi Muri to know that in politics, there is no permanent enemy or friend. Babangida may need to work with Hon. Veronica Alhassan again in future since he is a politician. Why fuel their little fracas? The group asked Muri rhetorically
“If the young man has leaked a conversation between him and his political leader when things went wrong, did he also tell you all the good moments he shared with the lawmaker? Of course you are not interested to hear that because you are on a sponsored mission to belittle someone who ironically, cannot be belittled by your antics. Mr Muri, Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do. A word is enough for the Wise”. The statement added.
