For staff of Worldview Magazine, Jalingo, Taraba State, Tuesday July 16 brought a most thrilling experience.
That day, Mr. Sam Adzegeh, veteran journalist and Editor in Chief, The Mandate newspaper/magazine turned up at the premises of Worldview magazine, on a surprise visit to the media house.

Addressing staff of the publication, Adzegeh commended the reliance of the management and staff of of the magazine for sustaining the publication in spite of the economic challenges over the last several years. He particularly commended Mr. Williams Ayoosu, publisher of the title, for developing the magazine to its current state, even taking it online.

Adzegeh noted that as an offspring of The Mandate, Worldview has made commendable progress.
“When, along with Mr. Samuel Akem, now late, I started The Mandate magazine way back in 1998 during the military administration of Col. A.J. Awoniyi as Taraba State, little did I know that I had set on a path would revolutionize print journalism in Taraba State.

“Mr. William Ayooso a zealous young man, joined the organization soon after. Some five years later, and following a spate of violence in the State, I relocated to Benue. Akem, soon after, started his own publication, The Pointer, but it was short-lived because Akem died after illness. It was after the tragic occurrence that Mr. Williams started Worldview.

“To me, it is a thing of pride and enormous joy that the publication has endured and grown to this level, enjoying the support of the good people and government of Taraba State.”

Adzegeh thanked the staff of the organization for enduring through the years, singling out Mr. Tor Biliji for standing by Mr. Ayooso from the very beginning.

“I must particularly appreciate our elder brother, Chief Tor Biliji for his humility and sacrifices for the growth of this publication right from its conception. I equally thank you, the staff, for ensuring that this publication is what it is today. I encourage you to continue to be committed to the the principles of the profession, while maintaining high diligence and self respect.

In his response, Mr. Ayooso described Worldview was a child of The Mandate.
He described Adzegeh, not only as a good model, senior colleague and friend, but also as a pillar of the publication, who, over the years, has contributed immensely to the nurturing of Worldview.

“About 25 years ago, Mr. Sam Adzegeh was posted by Daily Times as correspondent in Taraba State, and along the line, he started The Mandate magazine. I worked under him and through the experience I gained, I later started Worldview Magazine,” Mr. William recalled.

The Worldview publisher thanked Adzegeh for the visit, describing it as a morale booster for the entire Worldview crew, adding that his support and advice will always remain evergreen and appreciated.
