TSU Students reschedule planned protest on indefinite strike by ASUU

Students of Taraba State University TSU, Jalingo have suspended their earlier planned peaceful demonstration and given the state government until Friday to address the demands of Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU,TSU chapter
Nungamiya Galeya Lodiya, Chairman of the Joint Campus Council of NANS Taraba Chapter, stated that while they agreed to the postponement, failure to meet their demands would lead to mass protests and the shutdown of all federal roads within the state.
Further more, President, National Union of Nigerian Students NUTASS, Aliyu Sulaiman,on his part,called on the government to act swiftly to resolve the crisis and ensure students return to class without further delays.
Recall that the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU Taraba State University chapter, began an indefinite strike on December 5, 2024, disrupting examinations and final year academic activities.
The union cited unmet demands as the reason for the strike.
The Student Union President, Comrade Rose Okoh Agada, expressed frustration, stating that students are unfairly bearing the brunt of the standoff between the government and lecturers.
Meanwhile, Mr. Norbert Abeh, a representative of the Students Representative Assembly, SRA, appealed to both the state government and the striking union to resolve their differences in the interest of the students before the scheduled Friday.
