TASCOTMAN inaugurates new executives, reassures total commitment to mobility services

The Taraba State Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle Association of Nigeria (TASCOTMAN), has inaugurated new executives to pilot the affairs of the association for yet another four years tenure

The inaugural ceremony which saw presentation of certificates to the new executives, took place at the State Secretariat of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Jalingo, Saturday, October 5th, 2024.

Those inaugurated were; Nasiru Garba Ahmed of Donga branch as Chairman, Abdulhaman Y. Jafarau of Jalingo branch as Vice chairman I, Ibrahim B. Galadima of Gidin-Dorowa branch, Vice chairman II, Abdullahi A. Bello of Sunkani branch as the State Secretary General while Musa Bello Sajo of Bali branch as the treasurer

Also Ahmed Shaibu of Kurmi branch was inaugurated as the new Auditor I, Idris Bello Zampa of Yorro branch Auditor II, Adamu Sadiq of Jalingo branch as PRO I, Sale Musa of Nguroje branch PRO II, Shuaibu Sule of Takum branch as Financial Secretary, Alh Musa Usman of Donga branch as welfare officer and Isa A. Adamu of zing branch as Task Force officer.

Others are; Idris Mohammed of Karim branch as provost man, Abubakar Bello of Garba branch Organizing secretary and Yakubu Maikano of Ibi branch as State Assistant Secretary respectively.

Speaking at the event, the outgoing chairman of the association, Abdullahi A. Bello, appreciated God for given him sound mind to lead the association successfully throughout his tenure of office. He expressed optimism that his successor would continue to move the association forward, calling on members to be law-abiding citizens and to support Governor Agbu Kefas’s led administration, saying that within one year in office, Kefas had transformed the state.

In a goodwill message at the occasion, the Galadiman Muri and District Head of Jalingo, Alhaji Tukur Abba Tukur, represented by Wakili Bala, commended the achievements of the immediate past executives and advised the new ones to build on those achievements.

Muri urged members of the association to support the government of the state in their various roles and appreciated the efforts of Hon Musa Abdullahi Chul towards the development of the association in the State.

In their separate messages, the member representing Gassol II at the Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon. Musa Abdullahi Chul and Alhaji Ibrahim, an uncle to the newly elected Chairman as well as Hon. Murtala Rikiriki, the Council representative of Mayo-Gwoi Ward at the Jalingo Local Government, all congratulated the newly elected executives and urged them to prioritize unity, resilience, and commitment to the development of the union.

Ibrahim Musa, who spoke on behalf of the branch Chairmen, expressed gratitude for the election of the new executives and appreciated Governor Agbu Kefas and his Deputy Aminu Abdullahi Alkali for their support to the union.

He cautioned branch Chairmen against disrespecting the Trustees, pointing out that one day they would also be in the same position.

While responding on behalf of the newly inaugurated Exco, the incoming Chairman, Nasiru Garba Ahmed, appreciated members for the confidence reposed in them and reaffirmed their loyalty and support for the current administration of Governor Agbu Kefas

The chairman however, appealed to the state government to increase support for the union, pledging that they would continue to contribute their quota maximally to move the state forward

“The current administration ours. We have been moving together since the campaign period, and we will continue to support our Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas for him to continue with the developmental projects he is doing”. He added.

Worldview Magazine check revealed that TASCOTMAN comprises of 74 branches and 3,700 units, with over 170,000 members across the 16 Local Government Areas of Taraba State.
