Taraba CTS swears-in new executives

The Community of Tiv Students, Taraba state chapter has today, sworn-in new executives who would pilot the affairs of the union in the next one year.

The swearing-in ceremony was held at Duvet Glitters, Jalingo the Taraba state capital after a successful election organized and supervised by the Taraba state CTS stakeholders. The election was anchored on the sacred principle of the Tiv known as, “ya na Angbian”.

Those sworn-in include; Zaki Ihom Williams, president, Zaki Simon Teryaaga, Vice president, Gwaza Fanen Peter, General secretary, Myevesega T.John, assistant general secretary, Ume Paul, Financial secretary, Mchivga Christian, Welfare Officer, Euphemia Terungwa, Dirctor of Socials, Elias Mark Tor-tondo, State Senator, Ichur A. Enoch, State Senator and Mkighir Henry, State Senator, respectively.
Similarly, Miss Homkwagh D. Cynthia was crowned the State Kumashe, Miss Faasema Lois, Ishanpepe and Miss Patience, Afazende while, Mr. Tavershima was decorated as Torkwaor, Mr. Adike Dominic, CTS Ambassador among others.

The outgoing president who was represented by his Vice, Zaki Tule Philip, tasked the new executives to imbibe the culture of unity and love adding that, it is only by exhibiting such virtues that they will be able to overcome the challenges that lie ahead of them.

“You must love yourselves and remain united to be able to succeed in your tenure.

Understand that, leadership is not by position but by how well you contribute in the service to the growth and development of a particular organization or Association,” He stated.

He urged them to capitalize on the mistakes made by his administration to move Taraba CTS forward.

The Incoming president Zaki Ihom G. Williams on his part, expressed gratitude to God for allowing him to see the historic day of his life and thanked Taraba state Tiv Students for finding him worthy to serve them adding that, he would do everything possible to make them proud.

“I thank you for giving me the mandate to serve you and I pledge to do my best to unite and progress CTS Taraba state chapter,” he stated.

Comrades Desmond Tyolanga, Asom Richard, Mtindiga Daniel Mpineter, Oryiman Fidelis Torkuma, Gerega Jeremiah, Godwin Iortom, Ephraim Solomon and Justin Demelu, in their separate remarks, congratulated and charged the new Exco to work round the clock to deliver on their mandates.

The event drew from far and wide, high personalities.
Highlights of the event included; coronation/crowning of CTS Kings and Queens, oath taking and cultural displays.
