Taraba 2022 Budget: Implementation is commendable despite meagre resources- Hon Elisha.

Christiana Babayo, Jalingo

The Commissioner for Taraba State Ministry of Budget and Planning, Mr Solomon Elisha has said that the implementation of the state’s 2022 budget has so far been very impressive in spite of the enormous financial hiccups confronting the state and nation at large.

Elisha who disclosed this on Saturday while interacting with some journalists in Jalingo, the state capital also said that the ministry has dedicated a great deal of time and effort to ensure the challenges faced doesn’t tamper with the implementation of the budget.

According to him, careful planning and the “Every-kobo-must-Count” and “Zero-wastage” policies of the state government has ensured that all the available resources are properly channelled to worthy causes in order to bring about various levels of development in all areas across the state.

“I make bold to tell you all that, as we speak, the implementation of this current budget is amazingly impressive. It is above national average and you can only understand this better if you consider it in light of the fact that our earnings are dwindling by the day.

” One may wonder the magic we have deployed to achieve this and I say it is no magic at all. What we did from the onset was to plan for the worst while expecting the best. That is what we are harnessing right now.

“Besides that, it may not be one of the most popular things you hear on the streets but the state governor His Excellency Architect Darius Dickson Ishaku has come up with these dual policies of ‘Zero-wastage’ and ‘Every-kobo-must-Count’ to ensure that our resources are meticulously used to bring about maximum impact.

“Consequently, all the Ministries, Agencies and Parastatals have made it an overriding operational philosophy guiding policy implementation and financial disbursement such that, almost all the hitherto conduit pipes and leakages are blocked.

“What we hope to do is to surpass are previous records and ensure that the rescue mission ends with a bang for the ultimate good of the state. This will also help to set a standard for whoever will take over from His Excellency as the next state governor” Elisha said.

The Commissioner assured that the Ministry will not relent in it’s effort to do right by the people and ensure maximum productivity at all times as it is a duty they swore to carry out.
