Newsflash:Gov. Alia appoints new SGS

The Governor of Benue state, His Excellency, Dr. Hyacinth Alia has approved the appointment of Barr. Aber Serumun Deborah as new Secretary to Government of Benue State, making her the first female to be appointed to the position.
Her appointment followed the resignation of the former Benue State SGS, Professor Joseph Alkali.
The appointment was contained in a press statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Gov. of Benue state, Sir Tersoo Kula on Tuesday the 10th of September, 2024.
The statement however indicates that, Prof. Alkali submitted his resignation letter yesterday, stating that he needed more time to address personal challenges.
“While approving the resignation letter, Gov. Alia expressed gratitude to Professor Joseph Alkali for serving the state under his administration for a year and three months.
“He wished him well and prayed God to grant him the strength to tackle the many challenges he has chosen to address.
“Meanwhile, theSSG,Barr.Aber is a seasoned Solicitor and Arbitrator with a strong Sense of initiatives and excellent analytical skills.She is a team player with good interpersonal skills who always strive for excellence and aim to contribute positively to the success and growth of an organization.she aspires to work in a reputable and challenging environment that encourages professionalism.
“Barr.Aber is a graduate of the University of Jos and Nassarawa State University.
“Gov.Alia believes that with her wealth of experience and trustworthy record of service,she will add significant value to his government,” statement reads in parts.
According to the statement, Barr. Aber’s appointment takes effect immediately.
