Fintiri Advocates For Peace And Unity

By Emmanuel Samuel, Yola

As Ramadan period begins, Adamawa Governor, Umaru Fintiri has urged all Muslims to maintain perfect peace, tranquility, law and order, above all unity during this holy moment of sobber reflection.

“Everyone must join hands to repair the fabric of love and oneness that bind the people together” adding very quickly that

“Nigerians must close ranks and refuse to accommodate the machinations of those who speak to profit from their pains or widen the lines of division”.

Fintiri who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary,
Humwashi Wonosikou in a Press Statement made available to our correspondent extended his warmest congratulations to Adamawa people and the Muslim Ummah.

The Governor said,
“May Almighty Allah bring it back to us and all humanity with goodness and blessings. May Allah protect Adamawa and its people”.

Fintiri expressed his sincere sentiments along with his best wishes of good health and peaceful Ramadan,

He also prayed Allah to bestow his blessings on all Muslims, wishing that it would be a month of security, peace and stability all over the world. “I solemnly pray that Almighty Allah continues to bestow his blessings and mercy on our beloved State and Country”.

According to the Governor,
Fasting during the Holy Month is one of the five pillars of Islam and is mandatory for all Muslims who are in good health.

“Prophet Mohammed used to spend generously on the poor and the needy during this period, and I therefore urged Muslims to copy the good example, Fintiri noted.

The Governor admonished Muslims to always remember those who are less privileged and reach out to them and also help the Government in confronting the challenges facing the nation.

He expressed his gratitude to Allah that Muslims are finally able to gather, and there are no strict restrictions on like the days of COVID 19.

He was impressed that “The improving COVID situation has brought optimism as the Ramadan Holy Month is upon us as we commence the Ramadan fast. I enjoin Muslims to increase their love for humanity, acts of charity, Kindness and gratitude”. he said.

Governor Fintiri who regretted that Nigeria has sadly witnessed the escalation of division and insecurity of recent, urged the people to endeavour to work together and bring an end to that.

According to him, “The Month of Ramadan is intended to teach Muslims how to live good and compassionate lives. It is a Month of sacrifice, abstinence and above all, love” he emphasized.

Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri therefore prayed Allah to grant all Muslims the strength to successfully complete the fasting period.
