YEDC Announces Power Outage in four Northeastern States.

By Christiana Babayo

The Yola Electricity Distribution Company has announced a power outage affecting parts of Adamawa, Borno, Taraba, and Yobe States from 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 10 to 5:00 PM on Saturday, June 14, 2025.

The outage is due to major works being undertaken by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) on the Jos-Gombe 330kV and Jos-Bauchi-Gombe 132kV transmission lines.

The works involve the installation of new towers at the Bauchi 330kV station and the crossing of the existing 132kV line. As a result, several injection substations will be out of supply during this period, including Damaturu, Molai , Yola, and Jalingo.

However, alternative arrangements have been made to minimize the impact of the outage. Biu will be supplied from the Dadi Kowa Hydro plant, while Baga Road substation in Maiduguri will be back-fed from MEPP. Nguru, Machina, and environs will also be fed through the 33kV Nguru feeder.

The Yobe Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) is working in alignment with TCN to support the ongoing efforts aimed at strengthening the regional transmission network.

Normal power supply will be restored promptly upon confirmation that the work is completed.
