Kefas cutting short Christmas visit to Wukari

The Taraba State Government has strongly refuted a circulating report alleging that Governor Agbu Kefas cut short his Christmas visit to Wukari due to rising discontent among residents, describing the claim as false, malicious, and deliberately misleading.
In a statement issued on his official Facebook page on Saturday, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters and Special Duties, Rt. Hon. Josiah Sabo Kente, PhD, dismissed the report as a fabrication aimed at sowing discord between the governor and the people of Wukari.
According to the statement, Governor Kefas neither fled Wukari nor faced any confrontation from elders or residents during his visit. It clarified that the Christmas visit was carefully planned, orderly, and successfully executed, with the governor engaging cordially with stakeholders and members of the public.
“The claim that visitors were stranded or that members of the governor’s convoy returned separately is nothing but laughable propaganda, devoid of facts, evidence, or credibility,” the statement said.
Kente accused the author of the report and those sharing it of engaging in character assassination rather than responsible journalism, stressing that the publication was designed to undermine the governor’s inclusive leadership style and the ongoing efforts of his administration to promote unity and development across Taraba State.
“The people of Wukari and Taraba State are discerning and can clearly distinguish between truth and propaganda, leadership and sabotage,” the statement added.
The state government therefore condemned the report in its entirety, urged citizens to disregard what it described as “evil narratives,” and reaffirmed Governor Kefas’ commitment to peace, transparency, and good governance.
The statement concluded by assuring residents that while falsehood may spread quickly, truth would ultimately prevail.
