Army gets new Commander in Taraba

General Kingsley Uwa has assumed Command as the 3rd Commander of the 6 Brigade Jalingo, Nigeria Army

At a grand ceremony, organised to mark the handing offer and send forth of Maj. Gen. Frank Etim in Jalingo, the outgoing brigade commander, Brigadier General Kingsley Uwa commended his predecessor, Major General Frank Etim for his remarkable achievements and purposeful leadership in ensuring peace and stability in the Brigade Area of Responsibility and promised to sustain and build upon his legacies

The new 6 Brigade Commander urged the troops to brace up for the enormous task ahead. He pledged that the troops under his watch would not relent on their oars until all criminal elements within the state are flushed out from their enclaves and forced to embrace peace.

Gen. Kingsley Uwa who has been redeployed from Operation Hadarin Daji, North-West Nigeria, stressed the need for maintaining the Brigade’s high standard of discipline and professionalism while fostering innovation

Earlier in his speech, the Outgoing Commander, Gen Frank Etim who was recently promoted to the enviable rank of Major General, thanked the Chief of Army Staff for the opportunity given him to serve the nation in such capacity.

The general expressed confidence in his successor to consolidate on his achievements in dealing with threat to security of the state. “I know you will succeed especially with your depth of experience

” I want to thank you for your cooperation and support in fighting against banditry, kidnapping, and other forms of criminality in the state during my tenure. I also wish to thank the Taraba State Government and the people of the state for their support that enabled us to succeed in our operations.

” We do most of our things in good conscience and professionally. Today, my one year and six months stay has come to an end and I am handing over to you another good infantry officer, a member of our crocodile family. I expect you to give him every support so that he can consolidate on our gains and even do more.

“My stay in Taraba had been very eventful, we came at a time when the state was bedeviled with the crisis but with the support of the government and the indigenes we had been able to surmount the security challenges in the state,” he said.

Gen. Etim further urged the officers and soldiers to extend the cooperation and support he enjoyed to the new commander and continue in the resilience to fight till the monster bedeviling the state was conquered. He commended them for their cooperation in ensuring Taraba was better than when they came.

”I want to thank you for your cooperation and support in fighting against banditry, kidnapping, and other forms of criminality in the state during my tenure.

“I also wish to thank the Taraba State Government and the people of the state for their support that enabled us to succeed in our operations. Highlight of the handing over ceremony was signing the handing and taking over notes, presentation of 6 Brigade flag to the incoming Commander and lowering and hoisting of flag.
