Taraba PAD Reiterates Commitment towards Promoting Peaceful Coexistence Among Communities in the State.

The Peace Architecture Dialogue under the umbrella of Search For Common Ground in Taraba state held its monthly meeting where the group restated their commitment towards the pursuit of peace through conflict resolution in communities in the state.

The Forum is known to include stakeholders from different relevant MDAs, institutions and academia who engage in various activities seeking to amplify the voices of the people and promote peaceful coexistence among ruralites.

During the last engagement held on the 28th of August 2024, the group highlighted action points and recapped some of the activities conducted during the last month as well as map out the next plan of action.

In his remarks the Chairman of the PAD Prof Joseph Lucas commended the efforts of the members whenever the need arises and encouraged them to keep the engines humming as the pursuit for peace is an endeavor that doesn’t cease.

The Project Coordinator Mr Dubi Sonam on his part encouraged the PAD members to not relent in their efforts as the success of the forum heavily relies on them even after the project rounds up its activities.

“I want to first of all commend the PAD members for their immense contributions towards this cause of promoting peace in the local communities. Your efforts, sacrifices and dedication are not going unnoticed.

“I also want to enjoin you all to continue to take this job seriously because we want this Peace Architecture Dialogue to remain firm even after the project rounds up” He said.

The Forum also discussed plans to host the 2024 International Day of Peace Celebration in the state.

Worldview reports that the Contributing to the Mitigation of Conflicts over Natural Resources Between Farmers and Herders in Taraba and Adamawa States, (COMITAS)Program of the Search for Common Ground with funding from European Union has been engaging in various activities that promotes peace building since it began in January 2023.

The Organization has also been synergizing with stakeholders, security agencies and the media to ensure that the every hand is on deck as peace building is a job that requires collaboration from all.

Search for Common Ground always insists on the Common Ground Approach to Conflict Resolution, and even Conflict Reporting.
