One killed in confrontation with security operatives in Taraba.

One person has been reportedly killed by soldiers at a check point along CBN road, Bye Pass in Jalingo, Taraba State.
An eye witness who spoke on grounds of anonymity told our correspondent that a said vigilante member was arguing with the military personnel who were trying to ensure that movements were restricted accordingly, when he was eventually shot by a soldier.
Police Public Relations Officer for the Taraba State Police Command Abdullahi Usman said that the command was investigating the case to ascertain what really transpired.
When Worldview contacted the Jalingo Local Government Area Commander of Vigilante, Munir Bello, he confirmed the incident and said that he is not sure of the deceased’s identity yet.
He however said that their men have been dispatched to the Federal Medical Center Jalingo where the corps was deposited to verify his identity.
“We have sent men to the federal medical centre to identify the body of the said person and we are yet to received any report. As you know we have many members and I can not just ascertain without proper verification. But indeed a person was shot to death this morning by soldiers at Anguwan karofi, CBN road ATC bye pass” he affirmed.
Munir assured that they will get to the bottom of issue and shed more light once more information reaches them.
