NSCDC flag-off combatant ready response team in Taraba

As part of its various efforts to get rid of criminal elements and other similar security challenges in Taraba State in particular and Nigeria at large, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has flag-off a Combatant Quick Response Team in Taraba State.
The inaugural ceremony which took place at the Command Headquarters Jalingo, was conducted by the Commandant NSCDC, Taraba State, Ugwuja Edwin who took over from Muhammed Usman Waksha not long ago.
Speaking during the flag-off, the Executive Governor of Taraba State, His Excellency Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku, appreciated the command for the various efforts it has being making to combat crime in Taraba State and Nigeria at large.
The governor who was represented by his Senior Special Assistance on Security, Nwunuji Agyo, expressed his willingness to provide all the needed supports to all the security outfits in the state to enable them effectively fight all forms of crimes.
The Governor charged the command to synergize with other security agencies in the state for effective operations, even as he tasked the inaugurated Quick Combatant Response Team to be proactive in their responsibilities at all times.
In his inaugural speech, the Commandant, NSCDC, Taraba State Command, Ugwuja Edwin said the Quick Combatant Response Team, was a product of a carefully selected personnel base on hard work, discipline and resilience after undergoing rigorous and intensive training that would make them responsive and responsible in their operations in cracking down on criminal elements and other security situations in the state.
While pledging to synergize with other security agencies for effective and efficient operations, the commandant said “I am quite aware of the fact that no single security outfit can effectively provide the needed security for the nation in isolation. To have an effective and efficient security operations, corroboration among security agencies is absolutely necessary.
“It is in this light that I pay an emergency courtesy visit to the brigade commander, 6 brigade command of the Nigerian Army Jalingo, Brigadier General Hillary Mabieuku, shortly after I arrived the state. I also planned to visit other heads of security agencies in the state to enable us have a robust synergy and corroboration for effective operations. He added.
While rolling out his agenda for the Taraba NSCDC command under his watch, the Commandant noted that he would prioritized and absorbed an intelligent mechanism that would be comparable to none.
Commandant Ugwuja who pledged to engross and intensify a routine patrol and surveillance to tame down the tides of insecurity in Taraba State also stated that, he would not tolerate any act of indiscipline among officers of the command especially among the Quick Response Team.
“There would be nothing like accidental discharge under my watch. So you must be upright and professional in the discharge of your duties. For criminal elements parading in the state, let me sound this note of warning clearly. It is either you turn a new leaf or leave the state”. He warned.
Ugwu appreciated the government of Taraba State under the leadership of Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku for the commitment in ensuring the safety of people and their properties across the state and solicited for logistic from the State Government to enable the command continue assiduously with its responsibility of safe guarding lives and property of the people and the principal infrastructures in the Taraba State.
In their separate goodwill messages, Bulus Manu, who represented Brigadier General Hillary Mabieku, Commander, 6 Brigade Command of the Nigerian Army Jalingo, and Bulus Mary who represented Tanko Nuhu, the Comptroller, Nigeria Emigration Service, Taraba State Sector Command, all expressed their command’s readiness to support the quick combatant response team of the NSCDC in all the necessary ways to free Taraba from the bondage of criminal elements.
Highlights of the flag-off were play lets, assembling and coupling of guns to display the level of competence and gallantness of the inaugurated Quick Combatant Response Team.
