LAU LGC Chairman denies authorizing permits for miners, challenges accusers.
Honourable Nigeria Jateau, Chairman of Lau Local Government Council, has denied allegations leveled against him by an unidentified person in a viral video, alleging that he issued a consent letter to landowners in Budong Village, Lau Local Government Area of Taraba State, as formal approval for mining activities.
In his view, the accusations are aimed at destroying his reputation and relationships with the Budong people for political reasons, potentially affecting his position with His Excellency Dr. Agbu Kefas.
A video featuring Mr. Francis from Budong village in Lau Local Government Area has gone viral, wherein he makes false claims at the behest of his sponsors, aimed at tarnishing his hard-earned reputation. Contrary to his assertions, the Chairman of Lau Local Government Area has directed him consent letter to obtain consent from the people of Budong village to permit mining activities by SHEAD INTEGRATED GLOBAL CONCEPT, as such allegations are utterly baseless and malicious.
” I categorically state that I am unfamiliar with the unidentified person. If I had indeed issued a consent letter, it would have been on official Lau Local Government Council letterhead and would have borne my signature. These claims are unfounded, malicious, and appear to be deliberate attempts to damage my hard-earned reputation and integrity. Consequently, I challenge those making these assertions to produce concrete evidence” He added
By virtue of an executive order signed by Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas, all mining operations in Taraba State have been prohibited. The state government has directed Local Government Chairmen to strictly enforce this directive and prevent any mining activities within their areas of jurisdiction.
The Chairman of Lau Local Government Area advises those attempting to tarnish his reputation to cease and desist, emphasizing that divine providence is the source of true power and authority.
He expressed gratitude to His Excellency, Governor Agbu Kefas, for the honor of being elected Chairman of Lau Local Government Area, serving a two-year term, and praised the Governor’s relentless efforts in bringing development to Taraba State.
