Eidel-Kabir: Tiv Peace Advocacy Group felicitates with Gov Kefas, Muslims

As the Taraba State Muslim community joined the rest of the world to celebrate this season of the Eidel-Kabir, some peace-loving individuals, under the aegis of Taraba Tiv Peace Advocacy Group has lend out their voice to felicitate with the Executive Governor of the State, as well as the entire Muslim community. The group also called on the Muslims in Taraba State to rededicate the Sallah period to peaceful co-existence across board, in line with the spirit of the Governor Agbu Kefas led administration.
The good will message was contained in a press release signed by the interim leader of the group, Chief Teghtegh Shaakaa and made available to Worldview Magazine.
“We wish to use this medium to felicitate with our Muslim brothers as they join the rest of the world to celebrate this year’s Eidel-Kabir. It is our hope that the celebration will deepen the existing inter religious harmony, tolerance and sustain the hope for a better Taraba, through peaceful coexistence and love for one another. We believe that God will answer your prayers as you rededicate this festivity to the progress of our families, our various communities, the entire state, as well as our collective aspiration for a just an egalitarian society.
“We also felicitate with our Governor, His Excellency Dr. Agbu Kefas for creating an enabling environment for a successful and peaceful Sallah celebration and for giving us hope for a better Taraba of our dream.” The Press Statement reads in part.
The group further commended the efforts of the Governor, for giving the people of Taraba State a lifeline, through the positive direction of his leadership. The prompt measures he has taken to restore peace between Tiv and Jukun, administrative surveillance, which is reviving the productivity of the State’s civil service, as well as a sense of time consciousness, which he has instilled in psychic of Tarabans, were some of the developmental features of the governor that the release revealed.
“Just few weeks in office, Governor Agbu Kefas has changed the narrative that Taraba can wake up again and match like a giant, climb the ladder and take its seat on the podium of the most developed states in the country. “He stated.
The group further appealed to the people of Taraba State to use the Eidel-Kabir celebration to renew their resolve for religious tolerance, love for one another, eschewing violence, exposing criminals in their midst, among other efforts. The release stressed that this is another way of supporting the Governor on his drive to make Taraba a better state for all.
Taraba Tiv Peace Advocacy Group is an umbrella body of peace promoters of Tiv origin in Taraba State. The Association, as the release explained, is committed to total peaceful co-existence between the Tiv people and other ethnic nationalities in Taraba State.
