The Women and Children Health Empowerment Foundation (WACHEF) has reassured its partners, donors, and beneficiary families that its programmes remain safe and fully operational despite the security incident reported in parts of Sokoto State on December 25, 2025.
In a statement issued by its Board of Trustees Chairman, Dr Garba Danjuma, WACHEF disclosed that there has been no indication that any of its programme sites in Sokoto State were affected by the reported airstrikes.
The organisation also confirmed that none of its staff members, their families, or beneficiaries across its programmes suffered harm as a result of the incident.
WACHEF currently implements the Clubfoot Programme in Sokoto, Katsina, and Taraba states, with funding support from MiracleFeet, alongside other women and children health initiatives. According to the Board, all these programmes remain intact and unaffected.
While acknowledging that the incident may create fear and uncertainty capable of temporarily disrupting activities, the Board noted that WACHEF is working closely with donors, partners, community stakeholders, and local authorities to ensure the safety and continuity of services.
“The safety and well-being of the children we serve, their families, and our dedicated staff remain our highest priority,” the statement said, adding that the organisation is closely monitoring developments in collaboration with community leaders and partner organisations, including MiracleFeet.
WACHEF assured stakeholders that all its clinics and programme sites continue to operate as safe and welcoming spaces for children, caregivers, and communities, with appropriate precautions in place.
The Board reaffirmed the foundation’s unwavering commitment to its mission of improving the health, well-being, and future of women and children, even in challenging and uncertain environments. It emphasized that its teams remain dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate care across all programmes.
The organisation also pledged transparent and timely communication, assuring that families, partners, and donors would be promptly informed should any changes occur that might affect operations or service delivery.
The BoT Chairman expressed gratitude for the resilience of beneficiary families, the dedication of staff, and the continued trust and solidarity of donors and partners.
“On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we reaffirm WACHEF’s firm commitment to the health, safety, dignity, and future of every child and family we serve,” Dr. Danjuma said.
