Gov. Kefas Strengthens Partnership with Origin Tech Group, Stanbic IBTC to Boost Agriculture in Taraba

Governor Agbu Kefas has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transforming Taraba State’s agricultural landscape through a strengthened partnership with Origin Tech Group and Stanbic IBTC Bank.

This was made known through a statement signed by Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture and Food Security, Zanau Hassan Maikasuwa, on Tuesday in Jalingo.

The statement said the Governor received the Executive Chairman of Origin Tech Group, Prince Samuel Joseph Samuel, and the Chief Executive Officer of Stanbic IBTC Bank, Mr. Wole Adeniyi, alongside their management teams at Government House.

The high-level meeting was held to consolidate discussions following a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) earlier signed on October 5, 2025, in Lagos between the Taraba State Government and Origin Tech Group, with Stanbic IBTC Bank serving as the financial partner.

Governor Kefas explained that the collaboration aligns with his administration’s Taraba Accelerated Agriculture and Rural Development Scheme (TAARDS), a comprehensive initiative designed to drive large-scale food production, create employment, and enhance rural development through improved infrastructure and mechanized farming.

During the meeting, the Chief Executive Officer of Stanbic IBTC Bank, Mr. Wole Adeniyi, announced the Bank’s plan to adopt a public school in Jalingo, which will be renovated and fully equipped to modern standards.

On his part, Prince Samuel Joseph Samuel, Executive Chairman of Origin Tech Group, pledged to collaborate with the bank on the Adopt-A-School Project as part of efforts to support education and community development across the state.

Both partners expressed their readiness to move swiftly on the implementation of the MoU and to deliver tangible results under the TAARDS framework.
