Entertainment, a gateway to happiness – Solomon JP.
By Mtindiga Daniel
The President of Association Benue Entertainers, Mr Solomon Iornem, has described entertainment as a gate way to happiness and major source of healthy living in the contemporary society.
Iornem made the assertion during a courtesy call on the corporate office of Worldview Publications in Jalingo, the Taraba state Capital.
Mr. Iornem, who was accompanied by some of his friends stated that:
“Entertainment is like medication to calm people down in their moments of sorrow, depression and anxiety. Even if you are sick or not, there is need for medication.
“There are some medications you take to prevent sickness and not until you are sick before you will start looking for one. That is the role that entertainment plays in our way of life.” He added.
Iornem while commending Worldview Publications for its outstanding performances in the media environment, harped on the support of the media to grow the country’s entertainment industry.
Explaining the need for more partnership between entertainment industry and the media, Iornem said that their activities will remain unknown to the outside world without the support of the media, no matter how beautiful they are packaged, hence the need to strengthen relationship bonds.
He advised owners of media organizations and media practitioners to remain resolute in their role as watch dogs of the society, as well as in the discharge of their duties of informing, educating and entertaining, even in the face of the emerging challenges.
Highlights of the visit include presentation of Worldview Newspaper and Magazine copies and photographs.
