Christmas: Taraba lawmaker solicits prayers for those in authority

The Majority leader and member representing the people of Wukari 1 Constituency at the Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon Jethro Yakubu, has asked christians to make use of the Christmas season to pray for the governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas and other people in authority to succeed in their various offices
The lawmaker made this call while interacting with Journalists in Wukari, the administrative headquarters of Wukari LGA, during his tour of the various wards of his constituency to ascertain the challenges and needs of the people of his constituency
He disclosed that the government of Taraba State under the leadership of Dr Agbu Kefas, has put in place, robust plans and programs that would transform the state in the coming years, but prayers of the righteous are also necessary, especially that God is the maker of all things.
He urged the people of the State to use the period of Christmas celebration to pray for leaders of the state, especially the governor, Dr Agbu Kefas and to also keep supporting the policies and programs of the government of the state
He said, “the governor, Dr Agbu Kefas has mean well for the state. He has come to serve the state and he has put in place so many policies especially on education. So let us support him on these policies. If we give him the needed support, in just couple of years, we will see the benefit of these policies
“As the governor is doing his part, we individuals must also do our parts. When the two efforts are join together, there will be rapid development in the state”. He added.
While commending Governor Agbu Kefas for working hard to secure the state, the lawmaker disclosed that there are large ungovern spaces in the state which have posed serious security challenges to the government.
He said the State Government was working towards developing strategies to manage those ungoverned spaces in the coming years so that they would not be occupy by miscreants
“Aside that, the government also aimed at continues support to the security architecture of the state through strengthening of the state security system. There would be training and retraining of security personnel in the following years to ensure that the state has sustained peace”. He added.
On his achievement in office withing the first year in office, the lawmaker disclosed that he had empowered hundreds of women, youths and old men in various ways and had also facilitated employment of many youths of the constituency
He said he had supported farmers and small scale businesses among other things, even as he was still lobbying the government on various ways to see how youths would not only get jobs, but would also be creators of jobs and employers of labour in the subsequent years.
Hon Jethro who lauded the 10th Assembly of the state for doing so much within its first year, further congratulated the christians for the Christmas celebration and wish them a blissful New year in advance.
