Taraba Police Command sanitizes Jalingo Metropolis to honour national day

In honour of the National Police Day coming up on Monday, 7th April, 2025 at Eagle Square Abuja, the Taraba State Police Command, Saturday, staged a general clean up of the state capital as part of serries of activities marking the annual event

The exercise which commenced at the Police Head quarters Jalingo, proceeded to strategic areas in the capital city including major roundabouts, main market and palace way among others

Throng of men and officers of the command were seen sweeping dirty streets, cleaning gutters, packing carelessly thrown refuse and emptying various refuse bins among other clean up activities

Addressing Journalists shortly after the exercise, the Taraba State Commissioner of Police, CP Samuel Bretet Simon said, the exercise was aimed at highlighting the importance of maintaining a clean environment

The Commissioner who was represented by the Police Public Relation Officer PPRO, Asp James Lashen Saminu, disclosed that the police also wanted to demonstrate to the public that they are always at their service not solely on securing their lives but also to ensure that they live healthy and in clean environments in their various communites

He stressed that maintaining a clean and sustainable environment was a collective responsibility and police men and officers were out to demonstrate their commitment for environmental sustainability

“The exercise is one of the series of activities earmarked to commemorate our annual event, the National Police Day coming up on Monday. The exercise is a further demonstration of the fact that Nigeria Police are for the public. Police is your friend. We are public servant and are committed to be at public service at all times”. He added.

Recall that the Taraba State Police Command had commenced activities in honour of the National Police Day since Monday. So far, the command had offered free medical care to the people of the state. There had been stakeholders interactive session to cement harmonious working relationship among other activities//
