Taraba Ministry of Science & Technology rewards outstanding students

The Taraba State Ministry of Science and Technology has rewarded the first three best students of Science and Technology in Taraba State
The three students, identified as Mohammed Danjifari Sambo from Iqra Science Academy Jalingo, Utendo Victor from Crystal Classic College Jalingo and Victor Gamba Alpha of Rhema Cristian Academy Jalingo, emerged best Science Students of the state in the recent competition organized by the ministry across all the secondary schools in the state
Presenting prizes to the students at the Taraba State Ministry of Science and Technology on Thursday, the Commissioner of the Ministry, Hon Muslim Usman Aruwan, said the development was part of the efforts of the Ministry to complement the free education policy of the executive governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas.
He stated that the ministry had decided to initiate some programs and activities backed with prizes, to encourage and motivate students to revive the almost lost reading culture among students in the state so as to ensure that the free education policy declared by the governor of the state, Dr Agbu Kefas does not go in vain
“We have carefully lined up programs and activities to motivate students in all our secondary schools especially science students. We have acquired science kits and have also completed arrangements to retrain science teachers in our secondary schools.
“His Excellency, Dr Agbu Kefas wants education free for all Tarabans. You all are witnesses of the robust flag off of the Taraba Education Students Identification System (TESIS) he did at Nyamusala recently. I want to let you know that these efforts and many more to come, are geared towards actualizing the free education policy of this administration. We must support the governor to succeed. We must all play our parts to ensure that his kind gesture impact positively on the lives of our children across the state”. He added
The Commissioner who congratulated the students for their victory, expressed optimism that they would equally make Taraba State proud as they proceed to Abuja to represent the state at the 774 Presidential Competition
While expressing their joy over what they described as new in their lives, the three students, Mohammed Danjifari Sambo, Utendo Victor and Gamba Victor Alpha, who received different prizes ranging from exercise books and cash, in separate speeches, appreciated Taraba State Ministry of Science and Technology for all the gifts presented to them and pledged that the encouragement given them would propel them to continue studying hard to make themselves and their dear state proud.
Earlier, the Director, Science and Technology Promotion, Taraba State Ministry of Science and Technology, Mr Kobal Johnson Kobal, explained that the students would have to proceed to Abuja for the annual “774 Young Scientists Presidential Award Competition” where they are billed to represent Taraba State.
He stated that winners of the competition usually make home with rewards ranging from Presidential Scholarship up to their Phd Level and a whooping sum of between Seven hundred to one million naira among other things.
The director congratulated the students for emerging victorious at the initial phase of the competition and prayed that they
should make Taraba proud as they lock horns with students from other states in Abuja on Monday, 12th January, 2024
In a good will message at the session, Mr Abubarka Imam Abbas, the Principal, Iqra Science Secondary School Jalingo who spoke on behalf of the managements of the students’ schools, commended the Commissioner and all staff members of Taraba State Ministry of Science and Technology for the good work they have been doing in the education sector since the inception of Governor Agbu’s administration and assured the gathering that the schools would continue to do their best to support Dr Agbu’s laudable policies
