Group commends Governor Kefas over swift intervention in Tiv/Jukun renew attacks

Taraba Tiv Peace Advocacy Group, an umbrella body of peace loving personalities of Tiv origins in Taraba State which is committed to total peaceful co-existence between the Tiv people and other ethnic Nationalities in the State, has commended the prompt intervention of the Executive Governor of Taraba State, His Excellency Dr. Agbu Kefas in the renew attacks between the Tiv and Jukun which claimed several lives in Wukari Local Government Area Of Taraba State
In a press statement Signed by the Interim Leader of the group, Elder Shaakàa T. Adagba, the group noted that the quick intervention of the governor and his personal visit to the flash points of the crisis had prevented escalation of the unwonton killings and destruction of valuable properties in the area.
The statement also pointed out that the peace advocacy group would continue to work proactively to compliment the peace efforts and mission of His Excellency, Governor Agbu Kefas, the Taraba State House of Assembly and indeed the entire leadership of Taraba State to nib in the bud, any break down of Law and order in all parts of Taraba State.
“This Peace Advocacy Group is a proactive initiative to compliment the peace efforts and mission of his Excellency the Governor of Taraba State Dr. Agbu Kefas, The Taraba State House of Assembly and indeed the entire leadership of Taraba State.
“We are highly motivated and mobilized to stand behind His Excellency in this regard and firmly resolved to a point of NO RETREAT, NO SURRENDER until total peace and safety of lives and property is restored, sustained and guaranteed to all the people of Taraba State”. The statement reads in part.
The group further appealed to the people of Taraba State to eschew violence prone vices, maintain Zero tolerance to criminality and harboring of criminal elements in their mist in and give total support to his Excellency the Executive Governor of Taraba State Dr. Agbu Kefas to succeed on his good plans for the state.
