Gov Ishaku assents to 2022 Budget, enjoins traditional rulers to prioritize security.

The Executive Governor of Taraba State, Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku on Thursday signed the 2022 Appropriation Bill into law.

This is sequel to the passing of the Bill by the Taraba State House of Assembly on the 9th of December,2021.

Speaking earlier, The Speaker of the House, Prof Albasu Kunini said the budget was critically analysed by the house and that analysis birth a 3bn increase in the budget jacking it up to N 149,784,896,396.82 against the initial N146, 781,653,671.82 presented by the Governor

Kunini also commended the uncommon support given to the house by the Finance and other relevant committees to ensure that the bill is passed and pleaded that the blossoming relationship continues.

“The 9th assembly is grateful for the support and cooperation given to us by the executive. That support has been the bedrock of our good performances over the years and we believe that this will continue so that together, we can do our possible best to the glory of God and for the good of Taraba State” He said.

In his response, Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku expressed gratitude to all members of the state House of Assembly for a job well done.

” I deeply appreciate everyone of you and I must congratulate you for this duty and cooperation.
This is a clear proof that we are on the same page.

‘I also acknowledge the maturity and honesty with which the Speaker has been piloting the affairs of the Honorable House. The relationship between the executive legislative is highly commendable” He said.

Expressing concerns over the security situation in the state, Governor Ishaku frowned at the refusal of some traditional Chiefs to deny foreigners access to their communities.

That, according to him has become very worrisome as the lives of citizens are on the line.

Gov Ishaku made it clear that he will not hesitate to remove any traditional ruler or Chief who refuses to obey the instructions given.

“It is unfortunate that the traditional rulers are part of it. But let me state this here, that I will not tolerate it and I will not waste time or think twice about removing any traditional leader who violates these instructions.

‘Do not allow strangers or foreigners live in your communities If doing away with few to save thousands is what it takes, that is what we will do” He said.

The Governor also acknowledged the salient revolutions in various sectors that has continued to yield beautiful fruits.

In his words, ” It is remarkable the improvements we have recorded in healthcare, Agriculture, physical infrastructure, water improvements across the whole state.
The Rescue Mission will continue to do everything humanly possible to improve the livelihood of Tarabans”
