Troops Foil Bandits’ Attack, Neutralize Two Terrorists in Taraba

Troops of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have successfully repelled a bandits’ attack, neutralizing two terrorists and recovering weapons in Tor Ikyeghgba village, Taraba State.
The Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations, Lt Umar Mohammed through a statement said the operation, conducted on October 1, 2025, is part of Operation Lafiya Nakowa, a state-wide campaign aimed at flushing out terrorists and criminal elements.
According to reports, the troops acted on credible intelligence that terrorists were converging in the village. On arrival at the Powerline axis of the area, they engaged the criminals in a fierce exchange of fire, which resulted in the death of two terrorists.
Items recovered during the operation include:One locally fabricated pistol, two Dane guns, three rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, one Baofeng radio, one motorcycle, among other items.
Commander of the 6 Brigade, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, commended the troops for their swift response, resilience, and professionalism.
He reassured residents of the Brigade’s commitment to maintaining peace and security in Taraba State.
The Commander also urged members of the public to continue supporting ongoing military operations by providing timely and credible information that would aid in the fight against criminality.
