Covid19: Taraba trims 2020 budget, allocates 22bn for covid19

The Taraba state Government has announced the trimming down of the 2020 budget by thirty nine billion, two hundred and seventy million,two hundred and fifty eight thousand, three hundred and thirty five naira(N39,207,258,335) and the allocation of twenty two billion , two hundred and thirty one million, six hundred and eighty seven thousand, five hundred and thirteen naira(22,231,687,513.00) to fight the Covid19 pandemic.
The Commissioner for Budget and planning, Hon Solomon Elisha while addressing pressmen in jalingo, said that the review was neccessary so as to enable the state tackle the present economic situation resulting from the Covid19 pandemic.
He also disclosed that the 22billion was meant to cover crisis, palliatives, livelihood and other related sectors.
Elisha said that the budget of Accelerated Growth and Development that stood at two hundred and fifteen billion, eight hundred and twenty three million, five hundred and seventy six thousand eight hundred and ten naira(N215,823,576,810),has now been reviewed to one hundred and seventy six billion, six hundred and sixteen million, three hundred and eighteen thousand before hundred and seventy five naira.(N176,616,318,475) and signed into Law by Gov Ishaku without a ceremony.
