Taraba PDP commends Governor Ishaku over projects

The Taraba State Peoples’ Democratic Party, (PDP) has commended the Executive Governor of Taraba State, His Excellency, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku for the giant strides he is making to rescue the state in all facets of human endeavour.

Speaking with our reporter during a media interaction in Jalingo recently, the Chairman of the party, Lt Col Kefas Agbu (Rtd) said Governor Ishaku led administration was doing the best it could for the people of the state in spite of numerous challenges confronting the state including Covid-19 pandemic.

He noted that the governor had made giant strides recently in the areas of infrastructure, agriculture, education, health and security and visible works were still in progress in other area.
According to the chairman, in the area of infrastructure, work was ongoing on roads in various areas in the state as well as the fly over in Road Block which he said would be completed in due course.

“If you look around you will see the Yorro, Marraba Zing, Pantisawa, Kona to Lau, the ongoing dualization from Jauro Yinu to Pantinapu, these are things that the government is working on, the fly over is still ongoing, the government promised to give the people a better life. The water project is there, the Marrarraba Baisa road to Abong is also ongoing, TACMA is doing a lot of maintenance in Jalingo zing and there is a construction of Tsukundi road which is almost completed, Takum-Chanchanji road” he outlined.

In the Health sector, the Chairman said there are lots of hospitals been rehabilitated. He identified General Hospital Wukari, the General hospital in Bambur, Karim Lamido and the General Hospital Gembu, describing the Projects as outstanding ones which would touch lives positively especially as regards the healthy living in the state.

Commenting on developments in agricultural sector in the state, the chairman maintained that “seedlings are given to farmers. If you go out, you can see trailers moving in and out of Taraba State which shows that government is doing something. The government is also considering how some smaller tractors will be brought to assist farmers. It is this issue of Covid-19 that slowed down the process but we have done all the necessary things. Before the rainy season, we should have all these things ready.”
“The State Government is also putting much attention on rural roads because these are the areas that agricultural activities thrive.” He added.

Kefas also noted that in spite of the Covid-19 pandemic, schools have resumed and the government is working towards ensuring that the quality of education is at its peak, hence the rescue mission teachers’ project.

While calling on security to double up their efforts towards maintaining peace in the State, Col. Kefas (rtd) noted that security situation in the state is not a one person affair as both citizens and the security agencies have to put their hands together to achieve a meaningful impact.

“In the area of security, the government has tried, the state is relatively calm and peaceful, and security agencies are doing what they are supposed to do with the cooperation of the state. We are working together but more is expected in terms of security. Our aim is to ensure that the state is peaceful enough for people to go about their normal businesses without been harassed”. He stated.

On the politics of the state, the PDP State Chairman emphasized that the party is one full of serious minded people who are out to do the right things, as such, 2023 would be a wake over for the party.“

2023 will take care of itself, He said, “I don’t have any missile and I’m not fighting. We will only continue to do the right things. We did so last year and this year we will continue, likewise next year. As we continue doing the right things, people will come out to vote for us.” He stated.
