Taraba Monarch Congratulates CTS new President, Urges Students to Prioritize Unity, Peace.

The Gum Begha U Tiv Taraba HRH, Zaki Dr. David Gbaa Tela JP (Ter Tiv Bali II) has congratulated the newly elected National President, Community of Tiv Students (Worldwide) Comr. Mark Elias Tortondo and called on Students across the globe to prioritize unity, peace and love for sustainable development.
The Royal father made the call at the reception ceremony organized by the Community of Tiv Students Taraba State Chapter in conjunction with the Tiv Traditional Leaders Council, Taraba State to honor the new CTS National President, Comr. Mark Elias Tortondo of Taraba State University, Jalingo.
He maintained that the Students have great roles to play in strengthening unity among them, the Youths, Elders/Stakeholders, adding that by uniting together irrespective of tribal, religion, political and other affiliations, they would right many wrongs in the society.
“I heartily congratulate you on your emergence as CTS Worldwide President. As you assume office as the Leader of Tiv Students Worldwide, I urge you to be a symbol of unity and not division. Unite all Tiv Students together with other tribes to enhance peaceful co-existence as well as progress. You Students are the Leaders of tomorrow and society depend on you for progress and development.
“I want to encourage our children that as they continue to learn our tradition in school, they should practice it very well so that they would take over from us tomorrow. I urge you to be industrious, shun violence and criminality and together, let us unite and build Taraba State, Nigeria and the World at large,” he said.
He however appreciated His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas for his support to the Tiv people of Taraba State promising that the Tiv Community will not relent in supporting his administration at all levels.
In his keynote address, the Director of Sandwich Taraba State University Jalingo, Dr. Chia Adzuaga who spoke on the role of Students in promoting culture and unity for sustainable development emphasized that Students have great roles to play towards societal development and economic sustainability.
Also in their separate remarks, the President General of Tiv Cultural and Social Association (TCSA) Chief James Baka and the Special Adviser to Gov. Agbu Kefas on Digital Economy Hon Justin Tyopuusuu all, congratulated Comr. Mark Elias on his victory and charged him/students to remain committed to studies and practices that enhances unity and peaceful co-existence between the Tiv Community and their neighbors.
Earlier in his remark the National President of CTS Worldwide Comr. Mark Elias Tor-Tondo, commended the Tiv Traditional Council as well as Students and Stakeholders for the honor and promised to unite Tiv Students with other tribes for the purpose of development.
