SW:Taraba Varsity Mangt deny knowledge of “Gender Swap Day”,demand substantial explanation from SUG

The Management of Taraba State University Jalingo has denied that it didn’t approve of the Gender Swap Day as part of activities of the ongoing 2025 students week.

In a circular signed and released by the Dean, Students Affairs,Dr.Atando Dauda Agbu,The University Management observed with total dismay, the unacceptable display, by some students, yesterday, 9th October, 2025, during the ongoing students week, under the pretext of ‘Gender Swap Day’ stressing that the display totally contradicts the TSU Dress Code and character molding.
“Management is aware that no such event was approved as part of the 2025 students’ week, and so demand substantial explanation from the leadership of SUG on why the students’ week, henceforth, should not be cancelled totally.

“The Management of Taraba State University is ever ready to preserve the University’s academic integrity and maintain discipline within the university community. Therefore, any activity that contradicts the rules and regulations governing students’ behaviour on campus shall not be tolerated, “the circular read.
When contacted, the Students Union Government President Comr. Victor Mishak Abednego said he can’t speak at the moment.
“I don’t have anything to say about it. I can’t speak now,” he said.
The display has since generated heated reactions from Staff and Students of Taraba State University including members of the general public, expressing various concerns.
