PDP will give Taraba Tiv people their deserved recognition – Kefas

The Taraba State Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party PDP in the 2023 Governorship election, Lt. Col. Agbu Kefas has said that he would give the Tiv Community of Taraba State their full recognition if elected as the Executive Governor of the State.

Kefas gave the assurance during the 22nd Tiv Cultural Day Celebration and Conferment of Traditional Titles to Deserving Tiv Sons and Daughters in Bali Local Government Area.

Represented by the elder statesman, Elder Teghtegh Shaakaa at the occasion, Col. Agbu Kefas (Rtd), stated that the return of the Tiv IDPS back to their ancestral homes would be one of the easiest things for him to do when he would assume the seat of the governor.

The governorship hopeful, challenged the Tiv Community to return to the old ways which they were known, and to always seek the face of God in all their dealings in order to avert some of the calamities that the Tiv nation is passing through.

He called on the Tiv people to sheath their sword, obtain their PVCs and join hands with the PDP to mend the broken walls so as to restore the unity that had keep the people of the state together for ages.

Also speaking at the event, the President General, Tiv Cultural and Social Association, Comr. Joshua Ayagwa, called on the Tiv community in Taraba State to shun all forms of bitterness that are fast disuniting them and embrace forgiveness and love for one another so as to get prepared for the general elections.

He directed the Tiv Traditional Leaders and the Tiv clergy to wade into the lingering intra Tiv crisis in Takum Local Government Area and restore peace for the people to return to their ancestral homes.

In his remark, Zaki David Gbaa, Chairman, Council of Tiv Traditional Leaders and Ter Bali II, enjoined the Tiv in Takum to stop the needless violence against one another.

Zaki Gbaa further commended Gov Darius Dickson Ishaku, the Executive Governor of Taraba State for creating an enabling environment for Tiv people to participate in civic activities in the state and expressed assurance that the Tiv Community in the state would continue to support his administration now and after the end of his administration.
