NSCDC TARABA COMMAND HOLDS DINNER, APPRAISES 2023 PERFORMANCE

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Taraba State Command under the leadership of Commandant Adamu Salihu, Saturday, held a dinner to appraise the performance of the Corps in 2023.

Addressing corps at the occasion the Commandant NSCDC Taraba State Command, Adamu Salihu said the occasion became necessary owing to the desire of the command to avoid the pitfalls of last year and to fashion a better plan for a more successful year in 2024.

He appreciated God for His mercies and lauded the Federal Government of Nigeria for creating a platform for the Corps to exist and serve the country.

The Commandant further appreciated Commandant General NSCDC Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni, OFR for the privilege to serve in Taraba and prayed God for continuous protection and upliftment of the Corps.

Commandant Adamu while harping on the attainment of the command in the year 2023, said the Corps had taken giant steps in securing the schools in Taraba, contributed in the fight against banditry and kidnapping as well as reducing the general crime rate within the state. He said NSCDC through concerted efforts has helped to stop the menace of Child trafficking in the state.

The Commandant who was visibly elated, expressed profound gratitude to the State Government for refurbishing ten (10) operational vehicles for the Command last year and recently donating another eleven (11) brand-new ones. He said the gesture had contributed immensely to the success of the Command last year and urged all personnel of the Command to justify the confidence reposed on them by the State Government.

Also speaking at the dinner, the Chairman Jalingo Local Government Hon. Dr. Aminu Jauro Hassan who also doubles as the Chairman ALGON Taraba state, said the NSCDC performed credibly well last year and deserved all the support they got. He promised that ALGON would continue to support Divisional Officers in all the Local Governments of the state.

The highlight of the occasion was the presentation of awards to personnel who excelled in the year 2023.

ACC Joseph Daniel bagged an award of excellence for his outstanding performance as Area Commander, Area A. Two Divisional Officers DSC Barnabas Kopzuma and CSC Fredinand Medugu were awarded for outstanding performance in operational activities and successful prosecution of cases while ASC 1 Musa Ismaila bagged the overall best personnel of the year 2023 award.

The awardees received a cash donation of #100,000 from ALGON Taraba to further encourage better service delivery.

Our correspondent reported that the dinner was well attended by Heads of Departments, Heads of Units, Area Commanders and Divisional Officers. A dance session led by the State commandant brought the event to a close.
