Hon. Shaku Launches “Operation Feed Yourself Scheme to Boost
Food Security in Katsina-Ala

In a bid to address food insecurity and promote self-sufficiency in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area, Chairman Hon. Dr Justine Orangoholga Shaku has launched the “Operation Feed Yourself Scheme ploughing ‘hectares of farm lands for farmers to plant crops free of charge. This innovative initiative aims to empower residents to grow their own food, increase agricultural productivity, and improve food availability.
The scheme provides farmers with essential inputs like seeds, fertilizers, and tools to enhance crop yields.
The scheme also provides adequate Training and Capacity building for Participants who receive training on modern farming techniques, soil management, and pest control.

The scheme encourages participants to adopt a farm-to-table approach, promoting sustainable agriculture practices and reducing reliance on external food sources-this help farmers to Increased Food Availability by empowering residents to grow their own food, the scheme aims to increase food availability and reduce reliance on external sources.
It’s also help farmers in Economic Empowerment. The scheme will provide economic benefits to participants, enabling them to generate income from their agricultural activities.
