Hardship: Arc Hadiza Bello charges women to acquire entrepreneurship skills

As hardship has continue to bite harder in the country following the removal of fuel subsidy, the wife of the immediate past Permanent Secretary, Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Taraba State, Arc Hadiza Bello Yero, has charged women in the country to engage in acquisition of entrepreneurship skills in order to complement the efforts of their husbands and the government towards cushioning the effect of the hardship

The Arch was speaking in Jalingo shortly after receiving an award of recognition for her positive contributions to humanity and development of the state at an event of International Women Day, organized by Taraba State Ministry of Women Affairs and Child Development.

She stated that the hardship being experience in the country demands that women must have to acquire entrepreneurship skills to be able to create jobs and businesses that would help them to augment the their monthly salaries and the efforts of their husbands

“The situation now demands that Women should not be left idle at this time. I encourage each and every one to have something doing. For those who are not knowledgeable enough in some of these skills, they can pay a little to experts of different fields to be trained on certain things that can fetch them little amount everyday.

“Even if you are working with the government, time has come when we all have to learn how to produce what we can sale to augment our salaries. We must have something doing because, when you don’t have anything doing, you even spend more than required.

“One can decide to use a deep freezer and specialize in selling eyes block and other soft drinks or anything related to that. What I mean is that, we must do everything humanly possible not to be completely dependent on other people or government at this time”. He emphasized.

The Architect appreciated women in the state under the leadership of the Commissioner of Women Affairs and Child Development, Hon Mrs Mary Sinjen, for finding her worthy to be among those honoured at such an auspicious event of women in the state and pledged that the award would spur her to continue doing her best in the service of the state and humanity

Arc Hadiza equally lauded the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas for his all inclusive government, stating that women in the state had not have it as good as they have in the Governor Agbu Kefas led administration.

“Governor Agbu Kefas is a gender friendly governor. We are very comfortable with him. You can see that with him, we now are able to have a very good percent of women as Commissioners and Secretaries of our various LGAs. The executive chairman of Yoro Local Government Area is now a woman. He has done a lot for but as Oliver twist would say, we want him to do more for us”. She stated

While calling on women to continue doing their best in support of the governor, Arc Mrs Hadiza Bello Yero noted that parents should should also engage in counselling their children, especially the young ones on the streets on ways through which they can better their lives

She said she takes delight in counselling young ones, knowing fully well that most of them have talents but don’t know how to chanel them to solve their social challenges.

“I like keeping them busy. I enjoy doing it because most of them needs just a push to make things happen to change their conditions and their social lives”. So it is a task we all most embrace to better the lives of our children”. She said
