Governor Ishaku solicits cooperation of workers

The governor of Taraba, Architect Darius Ishaku has called on the workers of the state to cooperate with his administration and be diligent in their duties so as to make things easier for him to deliver all his promises; he also appreciated the workers for standing with him, even as he encouraged them to be law abiding citizens in the state. The governor stated this on the 2019 workers day where he was represented by his deputy Engr. Haruna Manu

In his speech, the Special Adviser to the governor on labour Hon Bitrus thanked the governor for having a cordial relationship with the workers. He appealed with the workers, saying that the cooperation they have being given to the governor Darius administration should during his first term in office, should still be given to him at the second term as well. The Adviser continued that the Governor will not fail them on his second term.

In their separate speeches at the event, The NLC chairman Comrade Peter Gambo, urge the governor to be the first to implement the 3000 minimum wage in the state and also look into the issue of over age workers who are due for retirement but still working so that the younger graduates will be employed.

Also speaking, the NULGE State President, Prince Musa Mamud acknowledged and appreciated the governor for regular payment of salaries.

However the governor did not say anything on the issue of minimum wage.
