Elder Statesman Fidelis Kaigama dies at 85

Former Federal Permanent Secretary and elder statesman Fidelis Kaigama and has passed away at the age of eighty five.
Kaigama who passed away on June 6, 2025, left behind a legacy of dedication and service to the nation.
The Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. John Kizito Bonzena, represented the state government at the reception ceremony at the Danbaba Suntai Airport Jalingo.
Bonzena described death as an inevitable journey for all mortals and urged the family to take comfort in the memories of Kaigama’s life and achievements.
Tributes have been pouring in from all over the country, with many prominent figures paying their respects to the deceased.
Kaigama’s career spanned several decades, from his early days as a classroom teacher to his rise as a Federal Permanent Secretary.
He also served as Chairman of the Civil Service Commission in Taraba State and was a respected leader of the PDP Elders Forum.
The remains of the deceased were transported to the mortuary at the Federal Medical Centre, pending final funeral arrangements.
The state government has condoled with the bereaved family, urging them to find solace in their faith and the enduring legacy of the deceased.
