Antere Community commends Gov Kefas for providing succour to victims

Residents of Antere community in Kaka Chiefdom, Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State, have commended the Taraba State State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas for his swift response in providing relief materials to victims of the recent fire disaster in the area.
Interacting with Journalists at the community, the residents expressed their sincere gratitude to the Governor for swiftly responding to their plight, stating that the kind gesture marked the first instance of aid received by the community.
The people equally appreciated Dr. Echuseh Audu, the Executive Secretary of the Agency, for her relentless efforts towards ensuring that the relief materials get to the right victims of the recent disaster
Mr. Ibrahim Isaia Bongfe, the District Head of Antere, Kaka Chiefdom, said the relief materials would go along way to cushion the harsh effects of the victims

He particularly thanked Governor Agbu Kefas and SEMA for the kind gesture and pleaded with the Taraba State government to provide more social amenities to the community.
“We can not thank them enough. What they have done to us is unprecedented. The relief has come to us at the most appropriate time and we pray that God should bless them in folds’. One of the beneficiaries who simply identified herself as Serah, stated
The beneficiaries further appealed to relevant state agencies, including the Taraba State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Primary Education Board, and Taraba State Road Construction Agency (TARCMA), to collaborate in addressing the community’s challenges, such as inadequate healthcare facilities, teachers shortage in their schools and poor road connectivity, among other essential social amenities required to enhance their livelihood
Speaking earlier at the presentation of the relief materials to the victims, the Executive Secretary, Taraba State Emergency Management Agency, Dr. Echuseh Audu, stated that Governor Agbu Kefas was committed to providing relief interventions to affected individuals and communities within the state to mitigate the impact of disasters on their lives.

Represented by the Project Finance Officer of SEMA, Mr. Saidu Tsokwa, stated that the agency’s gesture aimed at providing the necessary assistance to alleviate the disaster’s impact.
Antere village, a Nigeria-Cameroon border community, approximately six hours drive from Sardauna, the administrative headquarters of Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State, had on Tuesday, 4th March 2025, experience a devastating fire outbreak, which razed 49 barns filled with maize and other grains, leaving millions of naira losses and 49 individuals in tears as they all lose their food storage
Some of the relief items distributed to the victims by the Taraba SEMA to cushion the harsh effect of the disaster to the victims included; mattresses, blankets, mats, 5kg bags of rice, maize, and other essential supplies.
