Nourishing the Needy: Iftar Meals Program: Since the beginning of Ramadan, the IBI Foundation has been
diligently providing Iftar meals to those in need, including indigent individuals and prison inmates. This initiative is a testament to the foundation’s commitment to ensuring that the sacred tradition of breaking the fast is accessible to all, fostering unity and empathy within the community.
Lieutenant Commander Ibrahim Baba-Inna, Rtd, CEO of the IBI Foundation, emphasizes the foundation’s dedication: “Our resolve to serve the community is unwavering. Enlightening Minds: The First Ramadan Lecture Complementing the Iftar meals
program, the IBI Centre hosted its inaugural Ramadan Lecture, themed “Zakat al Fitr: an Islamic Mechanism for Poverty Alleviation.” The event featured Dr. Chiroma Tahir and Mal. Abubakar Lugga, who shared their insights on the significance of zakat al-fitr and its role in addressing poverty and fostering social welfare.
The lecture, held at the IBI Centre in Jimeta Yola, drew attention to the importance of zakat al-fitr as a tool for poverty alleviation and its broader social, spiritual, political, and economic benefits.
