Senator Bwacha group appeals for calm over judgement

The Campaign Council of the gubernatorial candidate of APC in Taraba State, has called on all teaming supporters of the party and it’s candidate in the state to remain calm as they await the decision of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the party over the recent judgement at the Federal high Court that sacked its gubernatorial candidate of the 2023 General election in the State, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha.
In a press statement signed by the Director of Media and Publicity, Bwacha Gubernatorial Campaign Council (BGCC), Aaron Artimas, and issued to journalists in Jalingo, the campaign council stated that the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party remains the only organ empowered by the constitution and the Electoral Act to present candidates for election into various offices.
Its therefore, urged members to remain unperturbed by the judgement, describing it as a temporal decision.
The Statement noted that the lawyers to the BGCC are ready to study the judgement after the receipt of the hard copy before deciding on the next line of action.
The statement reads in part; “the Bwacha Gubernatorial Campaign Council BGCC, is not unaware of the ruling of the Federal High Court Jalingo, nullifying the APC Gubernatorial Primaries in Taraba State.
“However, the council hereby calls on all our teaming supporters to remain calm as the development is only a temporary set back.
“The Bwacha Gubernatorial Campaign Council hereby assures everyone that our campaign is open to any option to be decided by the party.
“The National Executive Committee of the party remains the only organ empowered by the constitution and the Electoral Act to present candidates for election into various offices.
” So, while awaiting the decision of NEC of the party, our team of Lawyers will study the judgement after the receipt of the hard copy before deciding on the next line of action.
“Therefore, we remain unperturbed by this temporary decision by the court of first instance and advise all our Coordinators and supporters to intensify their campaigns”.
