6 BRIGADE TROOPS RESCUE KIDNAP VICTIM IN TARABA LGA

Troops of the 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke, have rescued a kidnapped victim during a swift operation in Yaja Village, Lau Local Government Area of Taraba State.

The rescue, conducted on Thursday, 11 December 2025, followed credible intelligence about the movement of suspected kidnappers around the area.

According to the Assistant Director Army PublicRelations,Lt Mohammed Umar, troops deployed at Maraba Apawa immediately launched a hot pursuit after receiving a distress alert, applying sustained pressure that forced the abductors to flee and abandon their victim.

The rescued victim, identified as 40-year-old Alhaji Shuaibu from Yelwata community in Ardo-Kola LGA, was kidnapped on 9 December 2025.

Commander of 6 Brigade, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, commended the troops for their swift response and professionalism, describing the operation as a testament to the Brigade’s resolve to protect lives and property across Taraba State. He affirmed that the Brigade remains fully prepared to deny criminals any safe haven.

General Uwa also assured residents of a peaceful and secure festive season, urging the public to remain vigilant and continue to volunteer timely information to security agencies.

The Nigerian Army expressed appreciation for the sustained cooperation of the public and reiterated its commitment to ensuring lasting peace and stability in Taraba and surrounding communities.
